Well heyyyyyy newbies!

Over the past few weeks, my readership has shot up again. If you are new to MPLT: hello, welcome, I think you are beautiful and I'm glad you're here! A little bit about me for my new readers (which you can also see more of in the About Me section):

1- I promise I don't always talk about baby stuff. But baby has definitely been consuming my thoughts lately.

2- I promise I usually give you some good food/recipe info because... well... I love food. Hopefully I'll have a new food feature starting in the coming weeks. I'll keep you posted.

3- I do rant sometimes. I'm sorry. And it's worse now that I'm pregnant since my hormones are OOC (out of control.) But I really am a nice person... just ask LF.BP. if you don't believe me. But then again, she's hormonal too and can probably not be trusted.

4- If I get 10 more people to "officially" follow the blog, I'll convince Chad to guest post again. My husband is infinitely more funny than I am (or, at least, he thinks so).

5- I do write about Jesus. Hope it doesn't scare you. But I love that guy.

6- If for no other reason, follow my blog because I periodically post pictures of THIS guy... and, well, he's worth seeing.

Blog love.

I love blogging. It's a great way to get out my frusterations, spark my creative writing, and document the various happenings in my life. I think it's great to be able to go back one day and read these posts all over again. And I'm glad I get to share it with you, dear reader.

So in addition to blogging myself, I love reading blogs. I love reading in general - but blogs are so great because each one is so different and unique - and gives you a really great view of the individual who writes it.

I thought I'd highlight a few of my favorites - in case you aren't following them already, you should be.

Pioneer Woman - this you all already know. I heart her. I love how her personality shines through her writing. Okay, and I looove all her recipes. Besides, she does some really cool giveaways about once a week. I haven't won anything yet, but I have faith I will one day!

Passive Aggressive Notes - super funny blog. People write in with the crazy passive-aggressive notes they receive so we can all point at them and laugh.

Stuff White People Like - they don't update this one nearly enough anymore, but if you've never read it before, you can have days worth of reading. I cry I laugh so hard sometimes. So true.

Smitten Kitchen - y'all know I love food, right? Read this blog, and you will too.

Mrs. Lilien Styling House - I wish me and Mrs. Lilien could hang out and she could pick out my outfits. Once a day she puts together a look about a certain "Mrs." - Mrs. Mingle, Mrs. Downtown, Mrs. McNicey (me), etc. Make sure to not only look at the amazing looks she pulls together, but read the little poem below. She's super clever and amazing. I wish we were besties.

Martinis or Diaper Genies (MODG) - my guilty pleasure. MODG is crass, crude, but unbelievable funny and she has a fabulous blog. But not for the faint of heart.

CocoCozy - an interior design blog. She puts some beautiful stuff up - love it.

Little Fish. Big Pond. - My friend Amy's blog. I probably love it so much because I love Amy so much. She's just a fabulous girl and friend. So you should follow her blog and read about her fun adventures - planning a wedding and chasing around her crazy pup, Raleigh!

Also, if there are any other blogs that I should be reading, but am not, let me know that too. I love clothes, cooking, interior design and laughing. If it falls in one of the categories, chances are I'll dig it.

Chad's blog

Kelly called me the other night to chat, and Chad overheard her saying something about my new blog. He loudly said, "I'm going to start a blog." I think Kel got a little excited (because Chad is hilarious and I think he'd have a great blog) - but I know he is a semi-social media phobe. The only thing he has is Facebook, and the only reason he even looks at his account is because it comes right to his Blackberry.

So then Kel/I (still on phone) ask Chad what he'd name his blog. He got angry and said he couldn't think of something like that in just a couple seconds. This is the time I should have put the phone on speakerphone because I was trying to repeat what Chad and Kelly were saying to the other. But it works out I didn't because that was about the end of Chad's blog conversation until the following morning.

We were in the bathroom getting ready for the day (me to head to work and Chad to run errands on his Friday off - and by run errands I mean go golfing at Keith Hills with my dad), and he asked if I'd be blogging today. I told him I probably would, and asked if he would ever want to guest blog on my site. He seemed interested, so I asked what he would blog about.

His answer "Twitter."

Now Chad doesn't even HAVE twitter. I told him he can't blog about that.

His next answer "Nuclear power."

I told him that was boring and no one would want to read about nuclear power - unless he talks about it in the way I envision him at work: Wearing a white lab coat, playing with beakers of brightly colored liquids, trying to steer clear of the "big red button" that if you press the whole place will blow up. Unfortunately - he doesn't wear a lab coat, there are beakers - but no colored liquids, and there is no big red button (unless he's lying to me).

So I'll have to keep him thinking about his potential guest blogs. I hope he does it though - because he is a very, very good writer. You wouldn't guess it coming from a science guy - but take my word for it.

PS: For those waiting with bated breath - little Annabelle Elizabeth Arnold was born at 4:59 a.m. this morning. Mom, dad and baby are well - albeit a bit sleepy. We're heading over to the hospital after work to meet the little one. Will hopefully post pictures tomorrow!
